Greener and Cleaner, part 3

CSA Group’s Journey to Carbon Neutrality
This is the third instalment of a serialized case study documenting CSA Group’s progress to carbon neutrality. Follow along and apply learnings to your own organization.

In this issue:

Walking the Talk
Environmental claims generate much public speculation and scepticism. So how do you extract a payoff to corporate reputation and stakeholder acceptance from your carbon performance? It’s a milestone that can be met only through a process that’s accountable, objective and transparent.
• Data collection must be thorough and undertaken with diligence.
• Apply ISO 14064 climate change standards.

Third party credibility
Once CSA Group had collected its data, it contracted with a third party to review and verify its corporate GHG report and related documentation. The verification was done in conformity with the international standard ISO 14064-3. It included numerous interviews with Company personnel, site visits and a review of all data and methods of calculation.
